Aside from juggling homework, co-curriculars, and weekend plans, a group of Marksmen are tackling something much bigger — restoring a piece of Texas’s native Blackland prairie. The Prairie Restoration Crew, a passionate team of young environmentalists, is working to bring back a vanishing ecosystem, one patch of North Texas at a time.

Over the weekend, two St. Mark’s Lions celebrated their elevation to Eagle Scout. Matthew Jordan ’25 and Arjun Poi ’25 received Scout BSA’s highest recognition during the Eagle Scout Court of Honor ceremony at the St. Mark’s Chapel on Sept. 29, 2024.
Dylan Taylor ’25 has played soccer all his life, and like many other Marksmen, he has never had to worry about being provided with the proper equipment to play. But through his many experiences in different leagues with different teams, Taylor realized that many players were lacking the proper equipment such as cleats and shin guards. Seeking to help players like these, Taylor created PELOTA.
Since 2002, the Senior Class has made a legacy gift, designating the remainder of their class activity budget to help future Marksmen. For their gift, the Class of 2024 looked back on the seminal moments of their senior year.
